The advantages of controlled gas nitriding

Gas nitriding offers a substantial improvement in the hardness of your parts, reaching between 750 and 1100 HV thanks to the formation of iron nitrides that strengthen the surface. Treatment takes place at near-atmospheric pressure, using active gases derived from the cracking of NH3 for controlled nitrogen diffusion.
This process delivers uniform treatment, even for parts with complex shapes, thanks to precise automated control of nitriding conditions. Treated parts feature enhanced resistance to wear and seizure, with very limited deformation, ideal for high-performance applications.

In nitrocarburizing, nitrogen and carbon diffusion optimize the combination layer for improved wear and seizure properties.

Applications for this treatment

Gas nitriding treatment is essential for highly stressed mechanical parts in sectors such asautomotive, aeronautics and precision engineering.
It is particularly suitable for parts requiring high layer depths and specific mechanical properties after treatment, such as extrusion screws, forging tools and gears. Advanced techniques enable rigorous management of treatment parameters by computerized systems, guaranteeing consistent quality and a reduction in finishing operations, thanks to the precision of the treatment.
