Duplex treatment data sheet
Duplex treatments are processes that combine two successive treatments to improve the mechanical and surface properties of metal parts. This process includes first a thermochemical diffusion treatment, such as ion nitriding, followed by a hard deposit.
The industrial implementation of these treatments requires that both steps take place in the same chamber without intermediate cooling, thus guaranteeing a high-quality interface between nitriding and deposit. This approach ensures excellent deposit adhesion and optimum reproducibility of results. Ion nitriding enables significant depths to be achieved without creating a combination layer, which is essential for deposit quality.
