Atmospheric carburizing with Thermi-Carb

Discover the Thermi-Carb® process, our in-atmosphere carburizing technique that enriches the surface of your steel with carbon. Suitable for temperatures from 900 to 940°C, this treatment ensures high surface hardness while retaining a so-called core toughness, ideal for demanding mechanical applications.

The benefits of Thermi®-Carb

The Thermi®-Carb process stands out for its ability to control treatment parameters more precisely via a computer system that adjusts the time, temperature and composition of the active atmosphere. This rigorous control makes it possible to accurately determine the coating depth (from 0.1 to 2 mm) and the mechanical properties of treated steels. This treatment offers high wear resistance and improved fatigue life, while minimizing post-treatment deformation thanks to sophisticated quenching devices.

Industrial applications and our recommendations

This heat treatment is particularly effective for mechanical parts, offering a technically and economically competitive solution for unit or series production. Suitable for special steels such as low-alloy steels (15CrNi6, 16MnCr5), it is recommended for its good precision and reliability characteristics. The process is optimized for different types of furnace, allowing flexibility according to volume and also to the configuration of the parts processed.
